Life sometimes has a funny way of throwing us through a loop - whether that is suddenly finding yourself in a new chapter, dealing with a loss, or being thrown with big emotions that are difficult to make sense of. If you find yourself experiencing any of these things, that is where I come in to work alongside you and help guide you through your worries and troubles.
I specialize in working with kids and adults who want to understand their paths, learn how to be their authentic selves, or reconnect with their identity. We’ll explore how your history, family, relationship dynamics, and culture inform your present-day self and how these intersect with your current challenges and concerns. I serve as a collaborator to help make sense of your world and what it means to transform something painful into a source of insight, resilience, and empowerment.
I approach our sessions through a person-centered lens, grounded in trauma-informed and multicultural practice - honoring your worldview and cultural identity. Treatment plans will be tailored and adapted to fit your unique needs and give you the tools you need to create long-lasting changes. Not only will you be challenged to grow in and out of our sessions, but my goal is that you enjoy the process - leaving our sessions feeling seen, liberated, and hopeful for your journey.

In order to optimize the development of my professional counseling identity, I am required by the state accreditation board to receive clinical supervision from a licensed professional counselor. Dr. Monica P. Band, LPC (DC & VA), CRC, NCC, ACS, CCC, is serving as my sole and primary onsite supervisor for the duration of my residency.
